Luke 8:40-56

These are healing stories, a women in the crowd, a family’s grief and a little girl’s life. They are uplifting, powerful and provocative. Provocative because not all were healed while Jesus was on the earth. Not all were raised from the dead. Was Jesus just picky or capricious? Did some deserve it more than others? I believe that Jesus was demonstrating that Divine power was breaking in on human affairs and was the symbol of ultimate authority. Friends, we live in a broken world. While I want everything to be fixed in the now it seems the promise is that in God’s time (not mine) the broken, grief filled, lifeless moment of this earthly journey will be redeemed.
